Reformer Pilates – Private Sessions
Reformer Pilates is similar to Mat Pilates; using the same principles, but you instead of Mat you use a Reformer apparatus.
The Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment, originally designed by Joseph Pilates. While living during World War 1, Joseph Pilates used it to in internment camp to help rehabilitate immobilised soldiers. The modern Reformer is a narrow bed with a sliding carriage, straps and pulleys, made more or less resistant by adding or removing springs. The Reformer acts as a support system for the body by helping assist it into proper form.
The Reformer offers all the benefits of Pilates, including overall strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. These things, in turn, lead to daily life improvements like better posture, graceful and efficient movement, and for many, relief from muscle pain.
Both Reformer and Mat are relaxing but effective.
